By simulating the hazardous procedures that goods encounter throughout the supply chain, the Road Simulation Laboratory seeks to improve packaging performance and reliability. This minimizes the environmental impact and maximizes operational efficiency while offering a cost advantage.
RELIABLE TESTS IN ISTA STANDARDS!
The International Safe Transit Association, or ISTA, is a global organization that establishes testing guidelines to evaluate potential physical hazards to packaging during transit and guarantee the safe transportation of goods.
Two distinct procedures are used to evaluate road simulation tests.
According to ISTA Standards
It evaluates how well the packaging performs during transit by identifying the ISTA standard unique to the products.
Tests Conducted
-ISTA 1 SERIES
(1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1G, 1H)
-ISTA 2 SERIES
(2A, 2B, 2C)
– ISTA 3 SERIES
(3A, 3B, 3E, 3F, 3K, 3L)
– ISTA 6 SERIES
(6-AMAZON.com, 6-SAMSCLUB)
Based on real-world road data
Data Logger:
It was created to accurately record the mechanical (shock, vibration, acceleration) and atmospheric (temperature, humidity) effects that products and packaging are subjected to while being transported.
- It tracks motion accurately using a dual-axis gyroscope and a three-axis accelerometer.
- The device can be installed on trucks, airplanes, ships, and trains to gather actual road data.
- It helps simulate transportation conditions in a lab setting.
ISTA ® Certification Advantages
Vibration Test
The Pitch & Roll system enhances the simulation of forces like vibration, shock, and impact that products encounter during shipping and handling, resulting in a more accurate representation of these conditions.
The room is equipped to deliver atmospheric preconditioning, enabling a temperature range from room temperature to -18 C. Additionally, it allows for the simulation of test environments by incorporating high humidity conditions as needed.
All tests are conducted under conditions that closely simulate real-world scenarios by choosing various modes of transportation, including land, air, sea, and rail.
Inclined Plane Test
It determines a load's ability to withstand horizontal impacts or crushing forces caused by gravity.
It is possible to test the packaging's ability to withstand shocks and impacts during the distribution cycle with the Inclined Impact Tester.
It can track the deformation during impact in real time with a high-resolution camera.
Drop Test
It is used to replicate the impact and drop effects that the product and packaging may encounter while being transported.
The package is dropped from a predetermined height onto various edges, corners, and surfaces to test its durability and internal product safety.
Device Characteristics
- Dimensions: 1000 mm x 1200 mm
- Load capacity up to 80 kg
Compression Test
It is employed to replicate the pressure forces that packaging and products may encounter during storage and transportation.
Device Characteristics:
- Dimensions: 1000 mm x 1000 mm x 1200 mm
- Capacity to apply pressure up to 5000 N
- Load capacity up to 1000 kg
