Sustainability Policy

Sustainability is at the heart of Modern Ambalaj's operations as a top producer of corrugated cardboard packaging. We understand that in addition to providing high-quality products, our business must also monitor and enhance its effects on society, the environment, and all stakeholders. Acting with this awareness has become a crucial principle for us, as sustainability is one of our core values that influence our decisions and actions.

In this regard, we plan our sustainability initiatives by taking into account the environmental and social effects of the production processes of our extensive range of packaging products. Our objective is to integrate sustainability into our corporate culture and to make it the cornerstone of all business operations. Because of this, we at Modern Ambalaj are dedicated to meeting our obligations to society and our stakeholders by taking important factors like the environment, energy, occupational health, and safety into account in all of our operations and strategic choices.

By identifying priorities, strategic goals, risks, and opportunities, as well as by keeping an eye on the proper procedures in the areas of quality, product safety, the environment, energy, occupational health, and safety, we seek to guarantee adherence to both national and international standards and regulations.

 

In this regard, Modern Ambalaj developed the Sustainability Policy to provide a clear roadmap for all business operations and personnel.

In light of our other sustainability-related policies, Modern Ambalaj has embraced the following principles:

 
  • To conduct all of our activities with responsibility and awareness of the reality of climate change and its effects on ecosystem environments,
  • To conduct production activities while keeping in mind national and international laws pertaining to environmental protection and minimizing its effects,
  • To put our strategic plans into action by controlling the anticipated environmental risks in our operations,
  • To raise awareness of all our business units and stakeholders, and to determine Modern Ambalaj priorities by soliciting their feedback,
  • To implement the criteria specified in the sustainable procurement policy across the supply chain by our relevant business units within the company,
  • To ensure the reduction, recovery, and reuse of waste while considering the efficiency of energy and natural resources and to ensure the safe disposal of waste that is not classified as suitable,
  • To establish sustainable production, working, and supply systems by making room for environmentally friendly technologies in its planned investments,
  • To prioritize renewable energy to fight climate change,
  • To develop sustainable raw materials and evaluate policy commitments made toward achieving net zero power consumption, under the direction of member organizations,
  • To reduce greenhouse gas emissions from energy use,
  • To ensure that measures are taken against air pollution caused by pollutants generated in production activities and released into the atmosphere,
  • To encourage the use of renewable energy sources and prioritize them when the necessary conditions are met,
  • To reduce the environmental impact by treating wastewater in accordance with water efficiency,
  • To uphold and enhance labor, social, and human rights, as well as consistently educating its stakeholders on this matter,
  • To raise awareness of its employees that it has a stance against bribery, corruption, and anti-competitive practices, which are also included in the scope of the business ethics policy, and that disciplinary procedures will be followed when relevant findings are discovered in audits,
  • To recognize the freedom of association and the right of workers to unionize,
  • To implement a recruitment policy that rejects discrimination based on gender, language, religion, ethnic origin, and political views and ensures equal opportunity,
  • To prioritize the confidentiality of all stakeholders' data and refrain from sharing it with third parties,
  • To not permit forced labor and child labor in its supply chain as well as within its own company,
  • To prioritize occupational health and safety while respecting universal human rights in all of its activities,
  • To adhere to the goals and objectives established within the scope of occupational health and safety (OHS), national and international legislation,
  • To increase awareness among all stakeholders, particularly workers, by planning OHS-related trainings,
  • To regularly monitor our current situation regarding OHS issues,
  • To reduce the number of accidents, occupational diseases, injuries, and near misses that occur on the job by utilizing a risk assessment system,
  • To ensure that workers are provided with personal protective equipment while performing their duties, and to control their use,
  • To organize and ensure regular control of a workspace and production area in a manner that does not present an OHS risk,
  • To provide all necessary resources to ensure the physical conditions required for product safety,
  • To provide the market with high-quality products while maintaining constant safety and customer satisfaction in production and sales operations,
  • To develop processes that adhere to quality standards in accordance with national and international laws and regulations,
  • To keep business models and corporate governance structures dynamic through continuous improvement and optimization.
